It’s 2024!
The New Year brings new goals, ideas and resolutions. These can be personal, involve your career or relationships and stem from many places that allow for growth. Most people can think of at least one or two things they would like to learn or change. Start small – it’s important to practice achievable milestones, so things don’t pile up and become overwhelming. We don’t want to get frustrated or have burnout before we have a win. When we’re able to set little goals for ourselves, we can feel proud of what we accomplish up to that point. Then, we’ll stay motivated working towards a bigger goal.
This New Year at Eniva, we want to start by helping you create habits that keep you energized and excited about health! In terms of resolutions, we know the basics and can say, “I want to have a better sleep routine,” or “I want to work out more,” but it’s hard to stay on track a lot of the time. We know life gets busy, but prioritizing time for yourself is important. Read on to find tips for keeping your focus. And, take time to kick back and relax – start by trying a couple mocktail ideas…
Start Right
We know New Year’s celebrations often involve alcohol, and after all, National Champagne Day falls on New Year’s Eve. But nothing says, “This year is going to be rough,” like waking up with a hangover or not feeling 100%. Instead, centering our mind around health and wellness can be a motivating factor. Think of New Year’s as a celebration of a healthy body that is capable of so many things. With this in mind, you don’t have to miss out on the party. Make your own mocktails, and inspire others, too… of course with your favorite Eniva products!
Cold Buster Cosmo (non-alcoholic)
Ingredients
• 1 oz Cold Buster
• 1/2 cup orange sparking water
• 1/4 cup white cranberry juice
• Optional: dried blood orange
Directions
Place all liquid ingredients in a long glass and stir with a bar spoon. Pour contents into a martini or wine glass and top with a blood orange.
Sleepy Hot Toddy Mocktail
The party is over, and it is time to head to bed. It can be hard to settle down at a decent time when lights stay on later and fireworks stay crackling. How does Melatonin, L-Theanine, Magnesium, Ashwagandha, Valerian, Chamomile, Passion Flower, Lemon Balm & Aloe Vera Gel sound? That’s what’s found in Eniva’s Natural Sleep product. Make it fun, though. Start by making your favorite sleepytime tea. We recommend something with lavender, chamomile or valerian root. Add 1 oz Natural Sleep. Leave out the whiskey and add a lemon along with a cinamon stick. We love to enjoy this in a glass mug just for something extra special.
Ingredients for Hot Toddy
• ¾ cup water
• 1 ounce Eniva Natural Sleep
• 2 to 3 teaspoons honey, to taste
• 2 to 3 teaspoons lemon juice, to taste
• 1 lemon round
• 1 cinnamon stick (optional, for garnish)
Directions
In a teapot or saucepan, bring the water to a simmer. Pour the hot water into a mug. (Or, steep your favorite caffeine free tea.)
Add Natural Sleep, honey and lemon juice. Stir until the honey has disappeared into the hot water. Taste, and add 1 teaspoon honey for more sweetness, and/or 1 teaspoon more lemon juice for more zing.
Garnish with a lemon round and cinnamon stick. Enjoy!
More Mocktails
You can make many different variations of Eniva drinks with your favorite products. Just add sparkling water, a splash of juice and fresh fruit.
Try these great products to use as your mocktail base:
• ResVante
• Cal-Mag
• Muscle Aid
• UltraShot
• Chlorophyll+
Help! My New Year’s Resolution is Slipping!
So, you have set a goal, right? It could even be an idea or just a new hobby you want to start. Great! You’re halfway there. The best place to start is to also recognize other responsibilities you have and how to still carve out time for the things you have set to achieve. Many people start to notice their resolution slipping when other things take priority. “Life gets real” in a hurry when family duties increase, someone close to you gets sick, you overextend when you’re asked for help, essential activities like grocery shopping or even planning a vacation can get heavy. We’re not saying to push these things to the side, but listing what often challenges your goals is a good way to figure out how to create healthy habits surrounding them. Another thing that can get in the way is lack of motivation or sleep. If you’ve been susceptible to either of these, make note of it. It’s okay. You’re not alone.
With your list, you can start creating small goals that help you achieve the bigger picture. As mentioned earlier, maybe a goal is to work out more. In reality though, getting the kids off to school takes priority over the 6 am workout. Okay, try later in the day…
Shaved Minutes Here and There Can Add Up
• Dinner usually takes 45 minutes to make. Instead, focus on finding recipes that take 20-30 minutes. – You just gained an extra twenty minutes to get some movement in at home.
• Get your crockpot out, for the day. Then later, use your regular meal prep time for a quick workout.
• Try alternating meal prep every other day with another person, so you both get into a regular workout routine – and support each other’s goals.
You can do it. Little shifts here and there can make a big difference!
- Talk about your goals with others.
- Define a plan on how to develop positive self-talk and when you will incorporate it during your day. Think of those “slump” times.
- Get inspired. Learn from others who have similar goals. Be careful to not get too caught up in trying to be someone else, though. You and your goals are unique!
- Learn from any setbacks, and give yourself credit. It’s impossible to be perfect. We know this. Give yourself grace, and do not lose sight.
Other Resolution Tips
- Write them down, and KEEP writing them down. Not once at the begining of the year – try it weekly.
- Don’t take on too much. There’s no need to transform who you are. Look at all the great assets you already possess!
- Find a friend or partner who can support you or that has a similar goal.
- Find a way to alter your goals from last year so they are not the exact same. Whether you achieved them or not, change it up a bit. It’s healthy to try something new!
